Activities at Alpine Lodge
San Francisco Bay Area

Alpine Lodge is located above Muir Woods on the south slope of Mt. Tamalpais. It features a cozy living room with rustic stone fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, spacious dining porch overlooking a big sun deck, and large social hall with gas-lit fireplace and hardwood dance floor. A wheelchair accessible restroom is centrally located. The upstairs sleeps 19 people in two private and four semi-private rooms. There is a co-ed bathroom with two showers, two toilet rooms, and a two-sink vanity. The Tamalpais building, located down a short garden pathway, has five rooms on two levels, sleeps a total of 17 people, and has two shared bathrooms.

The lodge is available to members and associate members for day and overnight use. Scheduled events and accommodations preempt individual member use. Each person needs to bring a sleeping bag or sheets, pillowcase, towel, and toiletries. Revenue from lodging and events provide funds for property maintenance and improvements.

Sundays on Mt. Tamalpais

Sunday Open House at Alpine Lodge

The Alpine Lodge Sunday Open House program is temporarily suspended.
We hope to continue this CAC tradition in the near future. Open House events will be posted on the Alpine Lodge Calendar when they resume.

Guided Sunday Hikes

California Alpine Club hikes every Sunday, starting from Alpine Lodge or a trail on Mt Tamalpais. Leaders and times are listed in the Sunday Hike Leader Schedule. Hikes can be 6 to 10 miles. Hikes are limited to 10 participants and registration is at CAC Outings Meetup site. Contact the scheduled hike leader or Linda Kumataka at lkumataka@hotmail.com with any questions. Carry water, lunch, and wear good hiking shoes. Rain cancels the hikes.
